Burrows Named Outstanding Educator by MinnState

Brooklyn Park, MN, March 9, 2026 — Hennepin Technical College (HTC) proudly announces that Jason Burrows has been selected as the 2026 Outstanding Educator by the Minnesota State Board of Trustees as part of the annual Board of Trustees Awards for Excellence.

The Awards for Excellence provide systemwide recognition across Minnesota State for consistently superior commitment to student learning and for encouraging the ongoing pursuit of excellence at colleges and universities throughout the system.

Burrows has been a dedicated member of the Hennepin Technical College community since 2007. Over the years, he has served in numerous roles that reflect his deep commitment to students, faculty, and academic quality. His positions have included Instructor of Philosophy, Assessment Coordinator, Division Chair, MSCF Chapter President, Chair of the Academic Affairs and Standards Council, Dean of General Education, and Interim Dean of Business, Information Technology, and Culinary Arts. In addition, he has contributed his leadership and expertise to many college committees and councils.

Throughout his tenure, Burrows has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to student learning, shared governance, and continuous improvement. His thoughtful leadership and collaborative approach have strengthened academic programs and supported student success across the college.

“We are honored to have Jason as part of the HTC team,” said Dr. Leanne Rogstad, Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs. “His dedication to students and employees is remarkable. This recognition reflects the meaningful and lasting impact he has made at our college.”

Award recipients will be formally honored at a luncheon on April 22, 2026.
