Students Excel at SkillsUSA State Competition

Hennepin Technical College proudly announces that 18 students earned top-three honors during the April SkillsUSA Minnesota competition, a prestigious statewide contest that showcases technical and leadership skills.
A total of 38 students—including 34 college students and 4 high school PSEO (Post-Secondary Enrollment Options) students—competed in a wide range of skilled trades and service areas including:
- Information Technology
- Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
- Culinary Arts
- Diesel Equipment Technology
- Cabinetmaking
- Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
- Auto Body Collision Technology
SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization that serves more than 300,000 students and instructors annually, supporting career and technical education (CTE) across the U.S. Through SkillsUSA, students demonstrate their mastery of real-world, hands-on skills while building confidence, leadership, and career readiness.
Students who placed in the top three now qualify for further recognition, and some may have the opportunity to compete at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference later this year.
